Allow PROPGATE.DSNTYPE=YES to work while PROPAGATE.SMSCLASS=(COND or YES,NO,NO) for PDSEs

Why is it useful?

It will respect the source dataset’s DSNTYPE and allocate the dataset with the correct DSNTYPE.

Who would benefit from it?

Any z/OS platform that has ACS routines that do not override a user’s requested DSNTYPE.

How should it work?

“If the source dataset is DSNTYPE=LIBRARY (a PDSE) then

that DSNTYPE must be propagated regardless of what is coded on the

dataclass. For example, the DSNTYPE can be coded on JCL and will override

the dataclass specification, therefore DSNTYPE must be propagated. DCB

must be propagated and SPACE quantities must be propagated, with or without

DATACLAS.”
