Reference for IBM ticket PMR TS015117738 Big Lots wanted to know safety stock in same API call and not to make additional API call to know the safety stock.
If IBM can add safety stock also along with on hand quantity to following API:-

Node Availability is intended for availability lookup only. This API will not include safety stock value. Do note that the Availability API returns shortageQuantity if that can help.
There are two options
1) Use the node availability detailed API https://api.watsoncommerce.ibm.com/inventory/{tenantId}/v2/availability/{itemId}/node/detail
2) Subscribe to availability events (https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/intelligent-promising?topic=formats-new-event#newevent__ProdAvailability)
Both provides the consumedSafetyStockQuantity.
