API to update Order Service Document status to null

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

Current Process:

When an order is synchronized, the document status is set to null. Once the order is archived, its status in OS changes to archived.

Issue:

When an order is restored to Sterling from OS, and if Sterling is not integrated with OS for regular synchronization, the status of the order in OS remains archived.

Proposed Solution:

We propose the development of an API that can be exposed to update the status of an order from archived to null.

How will this idea be used?

Implementing this API to update the order status from archived to null offers several benefits:

  1. Improved Data Consistency: Ensures that the order status accurately reflects its current state, preventing confusion and errors in order management.

  2. Enhanced Integration: Facilitates smoother integration between Sterling and OS, even if they are not synchronized regularly, maintaining the integrity of order statuses.

  3. Operational Efficiency: Reduces manual intervention required to update order statuses, saving time and resources.

  4. Automated Workflow: Supports automated processes by allowing status updates through API calls, streamlining operations and improving workflow automation.

  5. Better Tracking and Reporting: Accurate status updates enable better tracking and reporting of order states, aiding in decision-making and performance analysis.
