We have been using OMS get APIs to retrieve order details that are tendered for orchestration purposes.
We are now moving to provision Order Service as the single truth of order view and have noticed that some of dynamic attributes are not being serviced by Order Service as there is no relevant OMS attribute that are synched with OS.
Here are some of the attributes we have noticed
1. Order/RemainingFinancialTotals/RemainingToCharge
2. Order/RemainingFinancialTotals/RemainingToRefund
3. Order/PaymentMethods/PaymentMethod/AwaitingAuthInterfaceAmount
4. Order/PaymentMethods/PaymentMethod/AwaitingChargeInterfaceAmount
This RFE is raised to provide an extension so that synched with Order Service when ever is the order outline is modified.

How will this idea be used?
RemainingFinancialTotals attribute are used by the Custom Contact Centre UI to determine the remaining amount and send appropriate payment charge or refund request. As Order Service will be single point of order lookup, we want to ensure this is rendered appropriately |

For your requirement, outlining the expected fields to get into OS is very specific and it has complexity involved. So, it can't be done at a product level and it is very complex to implement with customization too.
We recommend to use your existing approach of calling getOrderDetails api call followed by search but only on the need basis.

OS based search and indexing is not be used for some quantity fields but in general the keywords derived out of order's non transactional attributes.
For your requirements, it is suggested to work with support and engineering team if any customization are possible, level of customization on oms or e-commerce side.
