Hi David we have had a discussion around this. This a great idea and would bring value to our clients. Currently we have a lot of clients optimising repairables using MRO, albeit to a certain level, To take this further we would need to start customising solutions specific to each client. I will promote this to an epic and tie it in with the other repairable epics so we can work on this as a seperate project when time permits.
Hi Dylan - It looks like we are only pulling the Valuation Category = Z ("Split Valuation") this is what we pull for most clients to define their "Rotable" Control Segment - But since we don't have a good solution around Rotables - I have yet to see a client instance where we are separating the different Valuation Types (New, Repaired, Core, etc), even though the "Condition Code" has been a standard column in Primer going back to the early versions OAS. Most US clients combine New and Repaired information together so they show as 1 record so they can see forecast based on total consumption. If we could come up with a "best-practice for Rotables management" - Clients would buy MRO just for that, Rotables is the single largest MRO inventory category by value for most clients, and often the most manually intensive.
Hi David, checking in to see if this is possible using the data Barrick has in MRO IO? For us to look at building a solution we would need to have the client data in MRO IO i.e. are the connectors pulling the data that is needed?
Understood, where has Barrick got those values in MRO IO currently?
In SAP environments this typically are Valuation Category and Valuation Type fields. I know there is something similar in Maximo environments
Hi David, great idea. Can you let us know what fields Barrick is using to hold this information now so we can look at options for moving this forward?
