This portal is to open public enhancement requests for IBM Sterling products and services. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Include ability to specify CD properties overrides in customer_overrides.properties file
The following cdinterop files can be modified without stopping Sterling B2B Integrator because the changes take effect immediately. Therefore, you cannot use customer_overrides.properties to preserve them. Instead, save the file with a different name to create a backup:
cdinterop-spoe-auth.properties
cdinterop-spoe-policy.properties
cdinterop-proxy-records.properties
cdinterop-user-records.properties
cdinterop-xlate.properties
cdinterop-bp-timeouts.properties
cdinterop-log.properties
cdinterop-copy-defaults.properties
As these are an exception to the standard, and cause anomalies in implementation standards, it is much more desirable to have them able to be included in the customer_overrides.properties file, without removing the ability for changes to the properties files themselves to take effect immediately, without restarting SFG.
The requirement to create and maintain a duplicate file, when changing any of the properties, is fraught with potential for losing those changes after the next patch or upgrade.

How will this idea be used?
During upgrades, SI will use the customer_overrides.properties file to keep customised configuration settings through upgrades . This is the case for majority parameters except the above cdinterop parameters. When implemented this will make Production system upgrades easier for customers using CDSA as a communications protocol. This will allow customers to not need their own internal backup and restore procedures |

This improvement should have been made 10 years ago. This would be so much better and prevent countless issues after upgrade/patching. Please shuffle this request to the top of the deck and let us know when it has been implemented!
