Setup AWSS3 transfer with out any secret and access key

Our Cloud security team isn't recommending any integration to setup AWSS3 transfer with any secret and access key. They are looking for some thing where we could leverage the S3 route with out secret and access key.

What is your industry? Financial Markets
How will this idea be used?

Will support AWS S3 protocol transfers internally within the organization.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. We truly value our relationship with you and appreciate your willingness to share details about your experience, your recommendations, and ideas.

We have reviewed this request with our technical team and have determined that we may already support the use case you have described in your request.

This can be achieved by using IAM role or EC2 profiles when configuring the S3 client adapter. See https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/b2b-integrator/6.2.0?topic=l-amazon-web-service-simple-storage-service#concept_pkc_wky_w2b__title__2

    • If you use an IAM role, the adapter can be configured so that secrets are not used

    • Some authentication mechanism will still need to be provided, either using IAM roles or EC2 profiles

Would you be looking for something different than what is documented above? If so, please provide more details on the use case you are attempting so that we can understand the requirement better.

If we have misunderstood your request, please let us know and provide additional details so that we can better understand the requirement. If you have any additional feedback or thoughts in the meantime, or if there is anything else I can do, please do not hesitate to reply to this message to continue the conversation.
