Alert notification needed whenever errors occur in BP FileGatewayMailboxRoute

In general, the OOTB BP is a template that customers can customize to meet their varied business needs. In this case, you would need to add an onFault element to the BP that triggers the AlertService to create a notification when the BP fails. This is something you could do yourselves or get services to assist. See:

If you are modifying the BP as above, you'll need to ensure that the customization is preserved when doing upgrades. We rarely replace OOTB BPs, but is something that should be checked to ensure the customization is not lost.

We don't provide this alert OOTB since different customers have different alerting/notification requirements, with some not wanting any notifications at all. There are multiple layers of failures and the corrective actions needed would be different for different business needs.

The alternative would be to use IBM Control Center Monitor that can monitor all system BPs and provide alerts on conditions when the BP fails. This would be a more OOTB solution for notifications without needing to customize the BP.

GIven the options above that are deployment specific, adding OOTB notifications that cover every failure scenario cannot be implemented at this time or does not align with our current strategy or roadmap.

There was a support case for this last year TS018197669.

We are using out of the box BP.

If there's a way to send a screenshot, I have a screenshot of our "Rollback Transaction Error" in the FileGatewayMailboxRoute bp instance. I also provided this screenshot in the support case last year.

The error in this BP (with no notification of such) caused a file to never show up in File Gateway, and the only way we found out about it was because a vendor contacted us looking for their file.

FileGatewayMailboxRoute bp is too critical of a bp to have no alerts when it gets an error.
