InFlight PPID Business Field Filter Search

The Protocol Started >> Event Details Tab displays the PPID (Protocol Profile ID) for OB transactions in InFlight. It would be extremely useful if PPID was added to the 'Business Field' Search filter drop-down. This would allow Internal Support at IBM and Clients to query transactions based on a PPID values (without having to know EDI IDs or Partner Names). It would also be extremely useful in identifying those partners impacted by a Certificate Expiry Event based on a list of 'potentially impacted PPIDs'.

How will this idea be used?

The PPID search has several use cases.

  1. Searching for transactions when little to no information is known about the partner.

  2. Searching for transactions based on a given set of PPIDs to determine if X partner was impacted by X outage

  3. Searching for transactions to understand traffic volume of X PPID across 35 days in InFlight

  4. Searching for transactions based on a list of PPIDs for Certificate Expiry

  5. Filtering YELLOW Queued Traffic by PPID to understand all partners impacted (for partners that use a 3PL, one PPID could represent 7 partner / EDI ID and TSETS).

  6. Filtering RED FAILED Traffic by PPID to understand all partners traffic that may have failed.

  7. Using the PPID search to locate all types of TSETS with intent on RESTARTING or RESENDING data for various business reason.

  8. Support would be able to quickly verify traffic after a certificate change using the PPID (without having to know EDI IDs or Document Types).

  9. Searching using PPID X would allow us to query InFlight for traffic back 35 days, instead of being limited to the retention period of X servers.

  10. All of above use cases would be beneficial for BOTH Internal IBM Support and Client business needs.

    Adding the ability to search by PPID in Inflight would be extermely helpful in day-to-day tasks/research and it would also be a HUGE timesaver.
