IBM Sterling Ideas

Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

IBM is transforming its request for enhancement (RFE) process. The purpose of the transformation is to provide a more consistent experience for you to submit requests and to enable IBM product owners to respond to your requests more quickly. For more information click here.

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,
1. Post an idea
2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you
3. Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea

Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests

The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notifications on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Add EDIID/Envelope Name & Map Name to 'Trading Relationships' avcivity report's 'Column options'

I have a report enhancement to request. HUSCO, Wabtec, Ball Corp and Pacific Cycle have all mentioned this to me in recent weeks.

  • Backgound:
Clients request custom reports from us at at times to pull an inventory of trading partners, envelope names and map names. It requires a case to be opened and L3 must run this. It takes many days to get the report.
  • Request:
Please consider adding "Envelope Name" and "Map Name" to the 'Trading Relationships' avtivity report's 'Column options'.
  • Benefits: Clients can pull data on-demand. We reduce, possibly eliminate the involvement of L1, L2, L3 support in running these reports.

How will this idea be used?

Client's need to inventory EDI IDS and MAPS at times, or need to verify this information for a PER. Today, to get an inventory if EDIIDS and EDI MAPS, a case must be opened which is assigned to L2, then assigned to L3. L3 then runs custom SQL report, returns the raw data results to L2, who returns the report to L1, who in turn provides the report to the Project Executive and also assigns to a member of the CDS team to make the data user friendly. It is only then that we can send this report to clients and it can take a number of days, as long as a week.

Adding these two pieces of data would allow customers to be able to run the Trading Relationship report and obtain this information easily and on demand; either on-line or as a downloaded csv or xls report.
