Ability to setup Node Capacity for a ship node by item type

A Retailer broadly classifies their products into two types -

  1. Soft line - Clothing, shoes etc.

  2. Big Ticket - Electronics, Appliances etc.

Because the effort to pick/pack/ship these product type is different, the capacity for each ship node to handle these order lines is different.

Example - A DC might be able to do 10 order lines for a Big Ticket item type but can do 100 order lines for a Soft line item type. If Node Capacity is set as 100 order lines in a day.

Retailer might over promise on Big Ticket orders and provide incorrect EDD to their customers.

We need a way to setup Node Capacity by item type. So, we can control how many order lines/units/releases for a particular item type can be allocated to a ship node

What is your industry? Retail
How will this idea be used?

Node Capacity is used for providing accurate estimated delivery date to the customers on the website during checkout.

If we cannot control how many Big Ticket/Soft Line Item type a ship node can handle in a day we might over/under promise.
