IBM Sterling Ideas

Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

IBM is transforming its request for enhancement (RFE) process. The purpose of the transformation is to provide a more consistent experience for you to submit requests and to enable IBM product owners to respond to your requests more quickly. For more information click here.

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,
1. Post an idea
2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you
3. Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea

Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests

The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notifications on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

DB Extract agent should be extracting data more frequently

Currently the field 'FrequencyInHours' in the DB Extraction agent configuration defines how frequently the data can be extracted. The min value for FrequencyInHours is 1 hour. This would mean that we can only pick up data that is older than 1 hour where as we currently (in On-Prem OMS) extract data every few minutes. Our order performance dashboard displays near real time accurate data. When we go live on OMoC, the data will be stale by more than an hour. Can you please enable more frequent data extraction?

Hi Siva, With current architecture, it may not be possible to reduce the sync frequency. The DB backup runs every 1 hour and extract agent is run on DB backup. For details , please check following link.

Currently, we do not have plan to change our DB backup architecture.

To meet your needs, please consider using transactional events to generate real-time alerts.

Ability to run this by every 30 minutes, so that we keep Data lag to an Hour Max.

Hi, Since we have not received any further information on business use cases requested on 3/26/21, I am closing this as. Please reopen the idea with all required information if needed

Hi, Thanks for logging this idea.

OMoC supports event-based architecture for getting data based on various transaction events. This can be used to obtain data from OMoC as soon as transaction completes in OMoC.

We are reviewing this idea and will post comments after our review. Could you please add following information to your idea?

    1. What is the desired frequency you would like to run the extract agent?

    2. Time interval (in hours or minutes), prior to current time, for which data should not be extracted?

    3. Limitations in using event - based approach , if any?
