Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Search existing ideas

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

  3. Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Allow administrator to disable specific adapters

We provide a transformation API to service to users - users can call existing maps or upload maps.

Maps could be written such that they access local files on the API server either by using input / output cards or GET and PUT functions. the API service could override the inputs and outputs but can't prevent the use of GET / PUT functions.

This is a security risk as we don't want users downloading local files etc. (e.g. MDQ, etc.)

I'd like to be able to disable specific adapters, especially the File adapter to prevent user access.  the adapters.xml file implies that this is possible but updating the file to comment out the file adapter has no effect on map behaviour.

How will this idea be used?

Adapters would be disabled to prevent security issues on the server.

Due to the architecture of the product, we're not confident that we could contain the needed changes int he 12 month horizon covered by these RFEs.
