Have statistics Records (CT and maybe others) indicate the true node a transfer was sent to when ALT.NODEDEF is coded in the Netmap for a node

Currently  if two nodes are defined NODEA and NODEB in the netmap and NODEA  has ALT.NODEDEF=NODEB coded, if NODEA can not sent to its primary IP address coded then the file will be sent to the IP address coded on NODEB. The issue is that the CT statistics record indicates that the node the file was sent to was NODEA not NODEB. This only indication in the CT statistics record indicating that the file was sent to NODEB is the IP address of NODEB that is recorded.

What is your industry? Consumer Products
How will this idea be used?

I had opened a SR with IBM regarding this issue and they responded with Connect Direct was working as designed. I'm wanting the correct node name to be recorded in the statistic(s) records so that our internal reporting will be accurate and our support staff will be able to accuratly determine the node to which a file was actually sent.

    Gerry,

It is part of the v6.1.0 base. Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,

Chris what is the PTF number which implements this enhancement or is part of the 6.1 base code?

    Thanks,

    Gerry Boynton

    Gerry,

No problem at all. Due to the changes that needed to be made we only intend to provide this enhancement in v6.1 onward so back porting likely isn't an option. That being said, we made some other significant improvements in the v6.1.0 release that might be interesting. I've included a link to the announcement that covers many of them below as they might make the decision to upgrade easier.

    Chris,

Thanks so much for following through with this RFE as I hope it will help others out other than myself. I guess I'll need to get to 6.1 (currently at 6.0) to be able to see this enhancement. Is there a APAR targeted for 6.0 at all or must I upgrade to 6.1?

    Thank you again

    Gerry Boynton

Thank you for your patience as we worked on this request. I'm pleased to announce that we have delivered this enhancement with the C:D v6.1.0 release which became generally available on 06/05/20. Please consider upgrading to start gaining the benefits of this and other enhancements that we've made in the latest release.

    Sincerely,

    Chris Sanders

Thank you for opening this enhancement request with IBM.  I have reviewed it with my team and we believe that it would be valuable to enhance the CT record to display the updated nodename in this instance.  I have accepted this as an uncommitted candidate and we will look to add it to our roadmap moving forward.

    Sincerely,

    Chris Sanders
