Apply Configuration Updates on Helm Redeployment in cdu for containers

For Connect Direct in containers - Apply Helm-managed userfile.cfg and netmap.cfg (including Secure+) changes during upgrades and redeployments, not only on fresh installation.

Background & Context

The files are mounted from a Helm ConfigMap and appended to the persistent C:D configuration only during fresh deployment. They are not reapplied during pod restarts, Helm upgrades, or rollbacks.

Problem Statement

Helm configuration changes are not reflected in the active C:D configuration after an upgrade.

Proposed Solution & Business Value

Add controlled, validated, and idempotent synchronization during Helm upgrades. The solution should detect changes, avoid duplicates, preserve existing configuration, synchronize netmap.cfg with Secure+, and define rollback behavior.

This would provide reliable configuration delivery, reduce manual effort, prevent configuration drift, and improve upgrade and rollback safety.

The Secure+ entries should also have a possibility to be controlled from user provided helm chart definition, i.e.: ciphers and protocols setting per remote node.

How will this idea be used?

This would provide reliable configuration delivery, reduce manual effort, prevent configuration drift, and improve upgrade and rollback safety.
