Lightweight container option for CDU/CDW

Enterprise customers often have many hundreds of C:D nodes which are installed on application servers so that they can exchange files for/with the applications. This causes challenges for evergreening due to change management requirements with the application owners, and mismatches between C:D pre-reqs and application pre-reqs that may block upgrading C:D. A lightweight C:D container, perhaps similar in concept to C:D Solo, that could be run under docker on the application server rather than requiring kubernetes could simplify both change management and compatibility challenges, as well as avoiding the need to license the container for the full processor count required by the application (often significantly higher than is needed for C:D alone).

    We run a distributed C:D estate, numbering in the ~2000 instances. This estate is not currently a good candidate for consolidating under K8.

    The complexity of managing the estate is restricting appetite for further C:D deployments.

    This lightweight standalone container option would enable significant benefits to estate and release management that will support consideration of further roll out of C:D instances across our estate.
