Please add another tool/command to UNIX Connect:Direct : NDMPING which exists on TANDEM Connect:Direct, however not on UNIX Connect:Direct. It is useful to have NDMPING on UNIX Connect:Direct to help CD Administrators to complete a validation test to remote nodes

What is your industry? Banking
How will this idea be used?

NDMPING shall be used to validate remote nodes were configured successfully: i.e. validate remote node mapping, Secure+, user mappings, sessions, and more

Thank you for opening this enhancement request with IBM. I have reviewed it thoroughly with my team, but unfortunately we will not be able to accept this. We've determined that we don't have an NDMPING command that ships with C:D for HP NonStop. We suspect that someone within your organization likely created that previously using a null process. Since this isn't something that ships on other platforms we would suggest taking similar actions with a null or blank process to perform the validation tests on your remote nodes for your UNIX systems. Assuming no copy steps or other actions are coded in the process it should simply establish a connection and then disconnect providing the information that you're looking for. Thank you for opening this enhancement request with us and please don't hesitate to use the tool in the future if you have other ideas we should consider.

    Sincerely,

    Chris Sanders
