Allow CSR to Select Alternate UOM for Ordering

Sterling OMS supports placing orders using alternate UOM. For example, ordering a product by the CASE instead of EACH. The conversion quantity from the inventory UOM to the alternate UOM for ordering is setup in the item master.

However, currently the ability to select an alternate UOM is only available in Order Hub. In practice, Order Hub is only used by power users and is never used by the business to create customer orders. The CSRs who actually create orders can only access Call Center. This makes the alternate UOM feature inaccessible from a business perspective. So here Sterling has this great feature that is absolutely critical and required by the business but in real life practice it cannot be used.

This request for enhancement is to allow CSRs to choose an alternate ordering UOM in Call Center when an alternate UOM is available for ordering. The alternate UOMs displayed for selection for the item on the order line would need to be ONLY the list of UOMs set as alternate UOMs for that specific item. This is basically the same functionality currently available in Order Hub.

How will this idea be used?

As a CSR, it is a critical business requirement to have the ability in Call Center to choose an alternate ordering UOM for an item when creating a customer order.
