HTTP Proxy enablement on B2B Mail client Adapter

With the addition of OAuth2.0 authentication on Sterling B2B Mail client Adapter all connections to the Microsoft exchange server will now happen on Micro Soft cloud, which means that connection earlier would stay within the company's network, but now all email communications happen outside the company network and in some cases to go outside the network, a proxy is needed. The B2B mail client adapter does not support a proxy configuration due to which all email processing is stagnet.

We would request to enable an HTTP proxy on the B2B mail client adapter to support on-cloud requests.

    We have assessed this request with our security experts. To use B2B Mail Client Adapter for accessing Microsoft Exchange Online, both the port for exchange mail server and the port for Microsoft OAuth server needs to be opened up for B2Bi. We are not aware of any proxy server for IMAP and recommend instead to connect to Microsoft directly by opening up the firewall ports and setting up the B2B Mail Client Adapter accordingly.

    Thank you for participating in the request for enhancement community. At this time, we are unable to prioritize this request in the short term, as we completed work ahead of Microsoft's deadline. We understand there is more work we need to continue to enhance and we will continue to monitor for prioritization. We are looking if there are other short term options and will circle back as we get more information.
