Implement Password rules for FTP(s) and SFTP Server Adapter External Authentication

Our platform is using IBM Sterling Integrator 6.1.1

Not using Sterling Secure Proxy

All the accounts are created using local LDAP on the app servers.

These accounts do not use IBM Sterling Authentication.

FTP(s) or SFTP

Following are the requirements related to passwords for these accounts.

Need IBM Sterling software enhanced to support these rules when the accounts reside on External Repository like LDAP on application servers.

Passwords age MUST be configurable (For example, password expires after 90 days)

Minimum password age is configurable. (For example, Password cannot be changed for first 3 days after each change)

The last six(6) previously used passwords are prevented from reuse.

System MUST force password change with new reset password.

New users MUST be provided with a unique and pre-expired initial password that the system MUST require the user to change upon first use.

Initial passwords MUST be randomly chosen or generated.

The user account is locked out for 30 minutes (account lockout threshold) after 5 invalid password attempts within account lockout window.

Passwords MUST be masked, suppressed, or otherwise, obscured when entered such that it is not viewable.

IT systems and application MUST be configured to allow users to change passwords at will after the minimum password age.
