SUBJECT
IBM Control Center (ICC) BP Inclusion\Exclusion
VERSION
Version 6.1.0.2 - build September 29 2017 11:21
DESCRIPTION
ICC provides the ability to monitor business processes (BPs) and then configure if we want to include\exclude them. This allows someone to define to monitor in ICC only what BP's we wish to monitor. The architecture is that the system will by default monitoring everything but then ONLY exclude what you select to exclude. This means that we in essence have to define what we want to exclude and the more we exclude, the slower it performs as it must check the exclusion list at each monitor step. We have tested and have evidence that excluding close to the maximum number of BP's will in fact slow down processing.
We wish to have an ICC change so we can explicitly select what to include (whitelist) or exclude (blacklist) without impacting performance. We are fine to accept a solution requiring to manually build a configuration file on a server to accomplish this and do not need an interface level ability if that makes this quicker to create.

With the latest versions of ICC and B2Bi, users may now select just the BPs to be monitored, as opposed to just the BPs to NOT be monitored.
