Support Optional Basic Authentication for Certificate-Based AS2 Communications in B2B Integration SaaS

Description

Currently, B2B Integration SaaS (IWHI SaaS) enforces Basic Authentication as a mandatory requirement for all AS2 communications, even when certificate-based authentication and security mechanisms are already being used.

This enhancement request is to allow customers to make Basic Authentication optional when trading partners are using certificate-based authentication, including AS2 signing and encryption certificates and/or mutual TLS (2-way SSL).

The capability would provide greater interoperability with trading partners whose AS2 implementations rely solely on certificate-based trust and do not support or require Basic Authentication. Customers should be able to configure AS2 partner profiles to use:

  • Certificate-based authentication only.
  • Basic Authentication only.
  • Both Basic Authentication and certificate-based authentication.

This would provide the flexibility required to support diverse AS2 partner security standards while maintaining secure communications.
