Sterling Secure Proxy does not currently support the forward proxy

How will this idea be used?

Dear Team,

PFB Architecture details:

Partner System --> F5 -> SSP node1/ SSP Node2 ( i.e. Request will route to either of SSP Nodes)

Each SSP Node will route request to either of the B2B Core Servers ( i.e. B2B Node1 / B2B Node2).

Once B2B Process the request , we tries to connect from B2B to SSP using outbound PS and route the request using Outbound Node details mentioned in HTTP Netmap.

From SSP to Client network, firewall is opened and which will route request to clients server.

(Note: Our SSP is not exposed to internet)

SI Version: 5.2.5 , hot fix 13

SSP Version: 3.4.2

PS: 5.2.5

AIX: 7.1

Currently SSP does not currently support the forward proxy (routing connections from the secure zone out to the internet), If SSP starts giving field in outbound nodes for proxy to be used along with client details as DNS and Port, this will give us a way to connect clients server using DNS over the internet.

Could someone please let us know in which future releases this will be handled?

    Hi Gautam,

Thanks for reaching out. The approximate timeline to implement this feature is by next year (2023) We had to push this out a little to address other critical features and enhancements like certain platform updates, Security reporting, UX redesign among others, some of which will be available later this year. Let me know if you want to connect over a call to understand more.

Sorry for not having an answer you expected and appreciate your patience!

    Regards,

Thanks Piyush for submiting your idea. Supporting Forward proxy is on the roadmap later in 2019.  We may comeback for more details when we scope this for a release/fix-pack.
