Support ICAP Virus scan for Forward Proxy connections

Sterling customers that receive data from partners benefit from ICAP streaming virus scan. However, most customers support both file transfer motions where SFG/B2Bi reach out to partners to move files as well. This reach out (listening producer) scenario is currently not covered by ICAP virus scan, and customers must roll their own by landing potentially dangerous files in the green zone for scanning.

Customers that purchase forward proxy support should also benefit from ICAP streaming virus scan of files to cover the listening producer scenario.

How will this idea be used?

All files should be virus scanned, whether they originate by receiving a connection, or making an outbound connection.

The Financial Services customer requires that all files be scanned for viruses. This functionality, which involves a listening producer pulling files from a remote server, is essential and must be integrated into the forward proxy capability in SSP.

    Thanks,

    Rama.
