As IBM support feedback from TS011512648. Connect Direct does not have a file locking feature on the NAS level. This should be basic security features when it comes to moving of files. appreciate if this could be added in the future release of Connect Direct.

Basic Security feature comes from the OS level that should be handled also on Connect Direct.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. After reviewing it with development we believe there is possibly no reliable locking mechanism in Unix. We suggest, in the Connect Direct process before the copy step, insert a Run Task to move the source file to temporary/safe/different location (where another applications cannot modify the file) and then copy it from there. Let us know if that helps.

If you have any additional feedback, thoughts or ideas, or if there is anything else I can do, please do not hesitate to reply to this message to continue the conversation. Appreciate your patience.

    Thanks,
