Enhancement request for SIP support on AWS Keyspaces

We are requesting an enhancement to enable support for Sterling Integration Platform (SIP) on AWS Keyspaces. Currently, SIP is not certified to run on AWS Keyspaces, which limits deployment flexibility for cloud-native architectures.

SIP is certified on Apache Cassandra, and AWS Keyspaces is a managed service built on Apache Cassandra. However, due to differences in implementation and certification requirements, SIP does not officially support AWS Keyspaces at this time.

Justification:

  • AWS Keyspaces offers scalability, high availability, and fully managed infrastructure, aligning with modern cloud strategies.
  • Enabling SIP support on AWS Keyspaces would allow organizations to leverage a fully managed Cassandra-compatible database without maintaining self-hosted Cassandra clusters.
  • This enhancement would reduce operational overhead and improve integration with AWS-native services.

Request:

We request that IBM evaluate and certify SIP for compatibility with AWS Keyspaces, or provide guidance and tooling to enable this integration in a supported manner.
