PreOrder as a product feature.

Business is expecting the following capability in SIP:

1. Ability to identify a product as a launch product

2. Ability to manage inventory association offered for launch pre-order/pre-sale

3. Seamless integration between OMS and IV w.r.t changes in dates (ex: launch date or availability date)

How will this idea be used?

This idea helps us to :

  1. While selling - Show availability based on the pre-order date or Launch date and not based on the onhand Inventory.

  2. While fulfilling - Start allocating the items only after the Launch date based on the seller agreement.

  3. After the Launch date, items will behave like a regular Item with all the selling and fulfilling capability as-is.

    To label a product as "launch" and provide a launch date. Please leverage the SIP Catalog Item Attribute feature

    For integration between OMS - SIP, customization will be required on OMS to extend similar attribute and either use the push or pull model between OMS and IV to get the attribute in sync.
