MyFileGateway 2.0 (enable same capabilities / customization / Usability similar to 1.0)

There currently more customization in 1.0 vs 2.0 in terms of permissions and default views (FileActivity/downloads/uploads). The enhancements of multifile download and download as Zip are what our users wanted, but not with loss of certain functionalities of 1.0 that are mentioned below.

For example:

MyFg 2.0 only defaults a user to the file activity page after log in, even if they do not have permissions to view that page.

MyFg 1.0 defaults the user after log in to view downloads/uploads if the file activity page permission is not given.

Another example is that the filtering is not present in the downloads page in 2.0 where 1.0 had filtering. The only filtering in 2.0 is in the file activity page.

The use case to create a user where they only have the download option in myfilegateway 2.0 involves more mouse clicks to navigate to download files vs 1.0

Features that are in 1.0 but not 2.0

  1. Ability to direct users directly to the Downloads or uploads page by removing the "FileActivity view Permission". 2.0 currently only defaults to the file activity page and throws "permission error"

  2. Filter on the downloads page.

How will this idea be used?

This will be used for the use cases for users that only need download/upload views with the enhancements that 2.0 brings with multifile download and download as zip.
