Password Security Controls

 Password security controls for SEAS administrator interfaces using local authentication are not sufficient.

  • Minimum password length of eight characters can’t be enforced.
  • Passwords expiration can’t be enforced.
  • Password complexity settings are missing
  • Password history is not configured to store number of previous passwords
  • Accounts cannot be configured to lock after number of unsuccessful access attempts
  • Initial passwords cannot be set to expire upon initial login

How will this idea be used?

Currently we are utilizing local authentication administrative accounts. Password security controls for SEAS administrator interface using local authentication are not configured in accordance with Trinity Health’s Enterprise Information Security (EIS) Procedures .

    Thanks for submitting this idea. We would not be addressing this since ideally this needs to be setup to be Authenticated in LDAP.
