IBM is transforming its request for enhancement (RFE) process. The purpose of the transformation is to provide a more consistent experience for you to submit requests and to enable IBM product owners to respond to your requests more quickly. For more information click here.

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,
1. Post an idea
2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you
3. Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea

Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests

The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notifications on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

It's regarding the Product SPE or Config Center - Outbound Envelope Search with the filter Next Envelope

ConfigCenter Envelope Feature

Existing: In Outbound Envelope Search scenario in Config Center, there is no option for searching outbound ST/GS envelope with the GS/ISA envelope as Next Envelope.

Problem: We have worked on couple of cases where Customer provided the GS/ISA information details and some of them are requested to change the Map/Envelope configuration and some requested to find the what map used for the GS Sender/Receiver details.

In such cases in outbound envelopes scenario, it’s difficult to search thousands of envelopes to find the specific ST envelope related to specific GS EDI details and GS related specific ISA details provided by the Customer.

Solution Approach: If we have provided with the Next Envelope filter option that will be good and using that field, we can easily search ST envelope related specific GS or ISA envelope.

Benefits:

  • Helps to reduce support time while handing such cases

  • It will be helpful to provide the Customer with effective solution as we have more information for the EDI details provided by the Customer.

Case Study:

See the case - Number:TS009422709 - Where Customer asking us to check why GS Receiver ID/Sender ID tagged to specific file was incorrect.

Problem: As multiple ST/GS can utilize same GS/ISA envelopes as Next Envelope if we apply the change based on Customer request then there might be chances where other flows impact.

Proposed Solution: If we have clear picture of what are ST envelopes using GS/ISA then clarity will be there and we can able to provide more details and confirmation will take from the Customer before proceed.
