Ability to Create/Invite Partner Users in API Without Sending Immediate Invitation Emails

Current Challenge

Currently, when creating or inviting partner users through API, the platform immediately sends invitation or activation emails as part of the onboarding process.

While this may work well for smaller implementations, it creates challenges for large-scale partner onboarding projects where user accounts need to be prepared well in advance of the actual go-live date.

Business Scenario

In many implementations, organizations need to:

  • Create hundreds or thousands of partner user accounts in advance.
  • Perform bulk user onboarding activities.
  • Configure roles, permissions, groups, and access policies.
  • Complete testing and validation.
  • Coordinate training and communication activities.
  • Align onboarding with a planned go-live date.

However, sending invitation emails immediately can create confusion because:

  • Users receive access emails before the solution is ready.
  • Training may not yet be completed.
  • Business processes may not be finalized.
  • Users may attempt to access an environment that is still under development.
  • Invitation links may expire before users are expected to use them.

Requested Enhancement

Provide the ability to create or invite partner users without automatically sending invitation emails.

Disable Invitation Email in the API During Bulk Import

When performing bulk onboarding, provide a configuration option such as:

  • Send Invitation Email: Yes / No

This would allow administrators to onboard users without triggering immediate notifications.

Business Benefits

Better Go-Live Control

Organizations can prepare all partner accounts in advance and control exactly when users receive access.

Improved User Experience

Users receive invitations only when the platform is fully ready, reducing confusion and support requests.

Support for Large Deployments

Enables efficient onboarding of large partner populations without requiring immediate activation.

Reduced Administrative Effort

Eliminates the need to delay user creation or manually coordinate individual invitations close to the go-live date.
