Bulk amendment of Requested delivery date capability in order hub for B2B use cases

B2B retailers often need to amend multiple existing orders simultaneously based on customer requests or business events. One common requirement is to bulk change the Requested Delivery Date for multiple orders, either at the order level or order-line level.

For example:

  • A B2B customer may request that the delivery dates for all their open orders be moved to a later date.
  • Orders associated with a particular contract may need to be moved to a specific delivery date.
  • A customer may request date changes for a selected subset of orders or order lines rather than modifying each order individually.

Provide a native capability in IBM Sterling Order Management to bulk amend the Requested Delivery Date for multiple existing orders/order lines in a single operation.

The capability should ideally support:

  • Selection of multiple orders based on applicable criteria or a list of order identifiers.
  • Amendment of the Requested Delivery Date at order level and/or order-line level.
  • Ability to apply the same new date to all selected orders/order lines, or specify dates as applicable.
  • Support for orders associated with a contract or other common business relationship.

A native bulk-amendment capability would significantly reduce the operational effort involved in managing large volumes of B2B orders. Without such a capability, customers need to perform amendments individually
