Enable Delivery Schedule Creation for Contract Recurrence Schedules with Short-Term End Dates (End date less than Look-Ahead Window)

We observed a potential design limitation in the contract recurrence schedule and automatic delivery schedule creation process.

We have the below parameter setting available, based on our understanding this parameter controls the look ahead window to create DSL, so that we don’t create DSL for a date which is in far future.

NUM_OF_DAYS_IN_ADVANCE_TO_CREATE_DSL Default value 30 days

E.g. if the contract recurrence schedule is for next 6months, for the next 30 days, whatever DSL is needed is created. The next day it basically checks for the 31st day and if required, creates the DSL.

But if we create a contract recurrence schedule which has end date < 30 days, DSL is never created. That contract schedule is ignored by the system

If I explain this with an example –

  1. I create a contract order with some end date in the future, it may or may not be greater than 30 days.

  2. I create a recurrence schedule, where that schedule needs to run only for 3 weeks, where there is a delivery every week once.

  3. This recurrence schedule is never picked up for DSL creation

The parameter should only control the forward creation window for the DSL and should not be used as a restriction on the recurrence schedule end date.

contract or recurrence schedule with end date < 30 days (this parameter) is not supported by the system

How will this idea be used?

Automatic order creation possible for short term schedules even with a large look ahead window setting
