Configurable Order Grouping by Ship-To Address in B2B Contract Automatic Order Generation

In the current B2B Contract Orders module, automatic sales orders are generated based on recurrence plans.

When orders are created for a given day, all contract lines sharing the same Order Date are grouped into a single sales order, even if the lines contain different Ship-To addresses. In such cases, the order is created with multiple lines, each potentially having a different Ship-To address at the line level.

While this behavior works for certain scenarios, it does not align with the operational requirements of many B2B retailers and distributors.

Enhancement Request

Introduce a configuration in the B2B Contract Order generation logic to control order grouping behavior.

Proposed Configuration Options

Allow grouping logic to be configurable as:

  1. Current Behavior (Default):
    Group by:

    • Contract

    • Order Date

  2. New Option:
    Group by:

    • Contract

    • Order Date

    • Ship-To Address

With this enhancement:

  • Separate sales orders will be generated per Ship-To address when the configuration is enabled.

  • Each generated order will contain only the lines for that specific Ship-To.

  • This eliminates the need for post-processing splits.

What is your industry? Retail
How will this idea be used?

Separate sales orders will be generated per Ship-To address when the configuration is enabled.

Current Order Hub UI doesnt support creation of orders with different addresses at order line level. Hence this option is crirical for retailers where there are only one ship to address for an order
