Whenever the receiving node is marked as "OFF" in OrderHub, the system should prevent order creation. In case the order is created and the receiving node is inactive, automatically move order to a "Backordered" status during scheduling, regardless of the AssumeInfiniteInventory flag or actual inventory maintenance in OMS.

  • IBM Sterling OMS currently supports backordering only when the Ship Node is marked as dirty and the AssumeInfiniteInventory flag is either set to 'N' or null.

  • In this setup, if the inventory is not maintained and AssumeInfiniteInventory = Y, the system assumes availability and proceeds with order creation and scheduling.

How will this idea be used?
  • In exceptional cases, e.g. if a store has delayed payments or too many open invoices, a store can get a delivery block. This block should prevent that a store will be able to place further orders. This flag of Node ON and OFF from Orderhub has to be set in OMS manually using OMS dialog window (in OrderHub), and it can be either on or off (active/inactive). OMS does not manage inventory in our business scenario (item has infinite inventory in OMS).
