Same alternate UOMs to be used across same Item-Ids

Our company uses multiple UOMs for items. There are few alt UOMs which are maintained in an OOB table provided by IBM. When another item is being created with a different UOM in item table but same UOMs in alt table, the item creation failed, stating record already exists.

It should not fail when we are passing RESET flag and the mapping is with item key. If someone tries to create an order with an Alt UOM order then it should either take the first returned values from item table or the active item from the item table.

to maintain multiple UOMs and their alt UOMs without any exceptions.

Hi Vaibhav, thank you for submitting your idea. I have reviewed the associated support case, but wanted to understand the underlying business scenario a bit more that what I gathered from the support notes. Can you please provide additional details on the use case for defining two separate ItemIDs with different UOMs as well as using the alternate UOM setup? In the example of ItemID-A (EACH) and ItemID-A (YARD) - what is the distinction between these two outside of the UOM?

I'd be happy to set up a call to discuss in more detail to understand how to best take this forward. Please reach out directly at aaron.cutter@ibm.com
