Option to NOT allocate orders against PO data

Orders allocate to PO_PLACED if eta of PO is equal to or less than the current date. If suppliers do not provide ETA updates in a timely manner we could be allocating to POs that have not yet arrived or will not arrive on time.

We still want to track these POs as future available inventory but we do not want to allocate OMS orders against them.

What is your industry? Computer Services
How will this idea be used?

We only want to allocate products that we have on hand. just because the eta date is passed does not mean we want to allocate against that inventory. our data is only as accurate as the data provided to us by suppliers and there are times when POs do not get received on time or at all.

    Hi Bharat - here is a sample scenario:

    For Item A we have 100 ONHAND and 10 PO_PLACED (PO#123 with an eta of 11/27/24)

    On 11/28/24 (one day past the PO eta) we still have not received the PO #123 or an update on the eta date from the supplier. An order is placed for 110 qty of Item A. As OMS works today, the order will allocate to the 100 ONHAND + 10 PO_PLACED even though we do not have the 10 in the warehouse.

    We would like the option for this scenario to ONLY allocate to the 100 ONHAND and backorder the remaining 10 qty.

    ===========================================

    currently how we handle POs is once the PO is received, the quantity received is decremented from PO_PLACED and then we increase ONHAND. We only want to allocate ONHAND inventory to an order. We do not want to allocate PO_PLACED inventory to an order because we do not know when that inventory will be recieved into the warehouse.

    ========================================

    Please let me know if you need more context! Thanks.
