Expose Max Stops property at API request level instead of currently as static, system wide

This will improve performance when running findInventory and other sourcing APIs. A high value of Max Stops has a significant performance impact so having the ability to dynamically set this property at API request level will add a lot of value.

What is your industry? Retail
How will this idea be used?

Store Associates need to call OMS sourcing service to determine the best fulfillment options. By using the multi-stops feature in Sterling OMS, the OMS API can provide visibility to Stores beyond the local reach of the Primary, Requesting Store. This idea provides significant performance improvement and will result in high usage of Sterling sourcing service to deliver business value.

Please provide an update. We were told by IBM support that we can close the PMR and all updates will be tracked here.

In one of the calls with IBM, this issue was discussed. IBM wanted to know if this change is needed in the scheduleOrder API. Right now, we do not need this change in scheduleOrder but in future we will need it (say + 6 months).i believe Vishal Arora was on that call and asked this question. He wanted to have AAP update the case with this response.

I created PMR when requested and waited for Support to schedule a call. Hopefully, it will happen this week. As for the multiple DG idea - that will not work. The issue is within a DG, we are trying to optimize the stops. We cannot easily evaluate by looking at the DG that there may or may not be a certain threshold of Stops. The OMS Multi-Stop Manager evaluates within the findInventory/sourcing API call.

Hi Salesh, Any updates on the discussions with support team?

Also, please validate the idea with additional sourcing options the OMS provides if local store does not have a stock. Ex. OMS allows to define multiple distribution groups and align them in the sequence of execution of sourcing rules to get item sourced from. Please work with support to understand the sourcing capabilities OMS provides.

    thanks,

There is no support case/PMR. Do I need to create one? It was not a defect so one was not created.

Hi Salesh, please update the support case details to understand the feedback from engineering to weight this idea.
