Asset Intensive companies tend to have unionized labor forces that can go "on strike" for a number of months at a time. The usage during these strike periods tends to be considerably curtailed or non-existent. The impact of a 4-6 months-long strike would have a large impact on the forecast usage/consumption value as well as the moving code. The idea would be to give clients a way to manage these items in a large-scale manner to adapt to the situation.
If a Strike Start Date and Strike End date were added to the forecast settings widget and
Strike Start is null and Strike end date is null - then no change to how forecast and movement are calculated
Strike Start is populated and Strike End is populated - Ignore all periods consumption from forecast and moving code (as if these periods didn't exist).
Stike Start is populated and Strike End is null - Item is on Strike and client has option to keep current forecast Usage or set Forecast Usage to 0, Moving code is calculated normally.

Hi David, thanks for this, it is a great idea. To build this into the product we would need to seperate out the usages in the forecast table. This has many other uses such as when equipment such as oil rigs and mobile plant that get laid up for a period of time.
We have this work identified and epics created so as soon as we get the opportunity this will be put into the roadmap.
