Upon PU failure the system should revert back to a useable state and notifications sent to users who are subscribed to that alert type (see https://ibm-ai-apps.ideas.ibm.com/ideas/MRO-I-112). Ideally this would also automatically create a support case with IBM support to investigate.
What is your industry?
How will this idea be used?
PU management by customers and partners. EG: notification message could provide details "PU failed due to incorrect/insufficient data in xyz payload, please correct and retry the update. A support ticket has been opened on your behalf. Your MRO system has been rolled back to a useable state.". This could then be corrected by customer and the PU started again. Where error is not due to data sent the message could be along the lines of "Unknown error occured during the periodic update, a support ticket has been opened on your behalf. Your MRO system has been rolled back to a useable state"
