Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests

The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notifications on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Standardize Connect:Direct messages

Currently, Connect:Direct has multiple message qualifiers, making automation difficult. requirement is for the Connect:Direct address-space to use a consolidated standard message prefix

How will this idea be used?

I wish to automate using Tivoli System Automation based on message IDs from Connect:Direct, but this is difficult due to the wide range of message prefixes issued by this application.

    Thank you for opening this enhancement request with IBM. I have reviewed it with my team thoroughly. Unfortunately we cannot accept this enhancement as there is a significant dependency between existing message IDs and the various platforms and subsections of code that leverage them. Trying to trigger automation based on the message prefixes would not be feasible.

    Our suggestion would be to leverage the message dialog to lookup details of any message that you receive. That would allow you to identify specific messageIDs that you may want to trigger automation with. I'm sorry that I'm not able to accept this request, but please don't hesitate to open a new enhancement if you have other ideas that we should consider.
