Be able to pass mixed case variables from NDM process to IRXJCL
We do a lot of work with File Agent where all the files are in OMVS zFS filesystems. We have the need to use a RUN TASK to call IRXJCL and pass the file directory & name especially when the combined name is longer than 72 characters and can't fit within JCL to run a job to process the file. While we can call IRXJCL and pass the file info now the name and directory get translated to uppercase and we have to jump through hoops to relate it back to the real zFS/HFS file name. It would be a lot simpler to be able to pass mixed case variables directly to IRXJCL. Using DMRTSUB just doesn't do the job for us.
What is your industry?
How will this idea be used?
We use File Agent with Sterling Connect:Direct to pass data files between clients and CSSC CMS, Surescripts, and CD.DDP government offices. We have no control over how the client or the government name their files, what case they use or what the filename length may be. We are just a collection point to pass the files between entities using Connect:Direct and File Agent.
