audit log file formation in connect direct for windows

As PCI auditing requirements continue to become more comprehensive, organizations are required to provide increasingly detailed evidence of file transfer activity to support audit reviews and demonstrate compliance.

The current Connect Direct for windows statistics logs are difficult to use and do not provide the level of detail and readability needed to efficiently track and document file transfers. To investigate a transfer, administrators must rely on Windows Event Viewer; however, the information available in these event logs does not capture all the details required to satisfy audit evidence requests.

We are requesting that IBM enhance the Connect Direct logging and statistics capabilities to provide clear, readable, and comprehensive transfer records that allow administrators to track file transfers from initiation through completion. The logs should capture the relevant processing details needed for troubleshooting, operational monitoring, and PCI audit evidence, without requiring administrators to piece together information from multiple sources.

Improving these capabilities would reduce the time and effort required to investigate transfers, strengthen audit support, and improve operational efficiency. We encourage IBM to address these requirements within Connect direct itself, preserving essential logging and reporting functionality without requiring customers to purchase additional products solely to obtain the information needed for routine operational support and compliance.
