Support Arbitrary UIDs in IBM Connect:Direct Web Services Container Images

Modify the IBM Connect:Direct Web Services (CDWS) container image to support execution under an arbitrary (random) User ID (UID). This will enable seamless, out-of-the-box deployment via Helm charts in highly secure, restricted Kubernetes and OpenShift environments.

Background & Context
OpenShift Security Context Constraints (SCCs) dynamically assign random UIDs at runtime while maintaining Group ID 0 (root group) for secure file access. This approach is the industry standard for securing rootless enterprise container images, preventing containers from executing with root privileges while preserving access to required volumes.

Currently, the CDWS deployment model expects fixed UID/GID like: 1010 to run the deployment.

Problem Statement
Using fixed UIDs (such as 1010) is strictly prohibited under restricted SCC policies. Because of this limitation, users must manually modify the Helm charts to bypass fixed UID configurations before they can deploy CDWS in highly secure environments.

Proposed Solution & Business Value
Implementing support for arbitrary runtime UIDs in the CDWS container images will align the product with modern cloud-native security standards. This change eliminates friction, allowing customers to deploy CDWS Helm charts out-of-the-box without manual, post-download modifications.
