new version CD to microfocus

Regarding to particular case, we have detected that EBCDIC Microfocus Gravity (JLC emulation) conversions with UNIX origin to Snode UNIX do not support line break translations. The EBCDIC to ISO8859-1 codepage works, but any additional parameters to add line breaks, remove spaces, and DCBs do not work.

What is your industry? Banking
How will this idea be used?

Any Microfocus implementation that requires Connect DIRECT will use this new version CONNECT DIRECT

    Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. After discussing with development,we believe, implementing this change does not align with broader roadmap. For that reason I am putting this as "Not under consideration" and we can revisit this once we see interest from more customers (via Voting or Comments)

    I understand that this is not the answer you were expecting however if you have any additional feedback, thoughts or ideas, or if there is anything else I can do, please do not hesitate to reply to this message to continue the conversation. Appreciate your patience.

    Here are our suggestions to handle the situation,

    • Correct the procedure in use that results in EBCDIC files on UNIX file system with no record delimiters

    • Execute a run task with the following sed command to add linefeeds after the file has been received. Assumes 80 byte records: sed 's/.\{80\}/&\n/g' {your data file here}

    Thanks,

    James
