Updating the RFE status to "Future Consideration" based on the internal review. We will be considering based on the overall priorities for one of the future releases. Thanks for your suggestions and appreciate your patience.

James
The product is working as per the design and its not a bug. To achieve the requested capability, we need a new enhancement to be done. This Request for Enhancement is accepted and considered for futuristic roadmap.
Thanks,
James
No, this suggestion is not useful because I need to perform the update with only 1 command line of cdinstall_a script.
We cannot make a manual edit of the backup.locations record in the initparm.cfg on dozens of C:D installations.
The cdinstall_a script is executed by a SALT minion remotely on all C:D servers.
There are these 2 parameters available which are not working correctly, and I need to have them fixed.
I have already proved the bug correction of the wrong variable in my initial case.
I don't understand why you would suggest to have a workaround by manual editing, instead of correcting a bug.
Here is the alternate suggestion to follow,
Update the backup.locations record in the {CDU install dir}/ndm/cfg/{CDU node name}/initparm.cfg file.
cd.backup specification is where the CDU server will be backed up and, if necessary, restored from
agent.backup specification is where the C:D Install Agent will be backed up and, if necessary, restored from
the specifications may refer to any accessible UNIX file system customer prefers, including shared drives
Perform the automated upgrade (cdinstall_a). This script will query initparm.cfg for the backup/restore locations to use.
Note: this procedure supports both standalone automated upgrades as well as Control:Center Director initiated upgrades.
Please let us know if the suggestion works.
Thanks,
James
as described above in "How will this idea be used?"
the automatic C:D backup can be stored on another disk with bigger capacity
the reason to use another disk is that the C:D installation disk is too small and gets full due to the backup on the same disk
Can you please share us the use case behind request to honor these parameters for silent update and what would the value addition by doing ?
Thanks,
James
