Create the configuration file (bin file) with LCU.bat from an input file

In order to avoid a lot of manual work and administration, we would like to automate the creation of the configuration file (bin file) that is currently done with LCU.bat.

For example, with this kind of command:

LCU.bat < Config.txt

or

LCU.bat -parameterConfig.txt

Config.txt containing the mandatory information to create the bin file aka:

- CDW Node name

- API Address (IP or FQDN)

- API Listening Port

- User Name

- Password (either in clear text or encrypted).

In this way, when an application is requesting a new C:D file transfer, we can automate the creation of the configuration file (bin file) and push this file to the repository of the application. So, it can be included in any future deployment of the application.

Thank you for your help.

Kind regards

How will this idea be used?

In the context of CICD for C:D, we would like to automate as much as possible the deployment of C:D and its configuration. Install and initial setup is already done by Ansible playbooks and further configuration with Web Services. We are still missing a few steps: bin file (hence this RFE) and process file (ongoing initiative).

Thank you.

    Hi Patrick,

It seems the request is already available in CD W (CDW 6.2.0.6_iFix001 and 6.3.0.2_iFix002.)See also APAR IT45088.

Please have a look and let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks,

    James
