CDWS: certificate-based authentication to C:D nodes

currently in CDWS Web-GUI user-logon screen it's only possible to login to a C:D node by providing USER-ID + PWD.

e.g. https://cdws:9443/cdws-ui/login

certificate-based authentication is only available for REST clients according to the documentation:

https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/connect-direct/6.1.0?topic=service-certificate-based-authentication

Thus we need the option to use certificate-based authentication in the Web-GUI instead of UID+PWD.

What is your industry? Banking
How will this idea be used?

we have a lot of C:D nodes, each with individual UID+PWDs due to security requirements.

certificate-based authentication will make the necessity obsolete to use individual UIDs and passwords for login to different C:D nodes.

Instead we can use 1 SSL certificate on CDWS which will be granted access to all C:D nodes.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. We appreciate your willingness to share details about your experience and your recommendations. We already have plans implement this change in our upcoming release, however we will be implementing this in phases, where in our next release we will be rolling this out only for containers followed by the traditional releases in future releases.

If you have any additional feedback, thoughts or ideas, or if there is anything else I can do, please do not hesitate to reply to this message to continue the conversation. Appreciate your patience.

    Thanks,

    Product Management
