Stand Alone File Agent - Do Path Match

Reference TS011100108. It is my understanding that enhancements have been done with Integrated File Agent, but the same enhancements have not been made to stand alone File Agent. One such enhancement, is to do path matching. With stand alone File Agent, you could have two rules, both with a similar path for the file match criteria. One, may have a subdirectory in the path that the other doesn't. Both look for any file in the path as *. My understanding is that stand alone File Agent treats this as a string match. This can cause a problem if the File Agent rules aren't in the proper order.

Thank you for opening this enhancement request with IBM. I have reviewed it thoroughly with my team. Unfortunately we won't be able to accept this request as we feel the ability to adjust rule order in File Agent has been greatly improved in our newer releases allowing easy ordering of rules based on parent/child directory settings which should make this obstacle much more management now. Because of that I must decline the request, but we do appreciate you taking the time to open it and I would encourage you to open future ones if other suggestions arise.

    Sincerely,

    Chris Sanders
