Passwordless connection to built-in local PostgreSQL

This enhancement should allow to use alternate access options to local PostgreSQL other than locally encrypted password to PostgreSQL user.

Proposed solutions include:

  • certificate-based authentication (preferred, if technically feasable)

  • password vault support (optional)

Solution should provide an option to utilize the same TLS certificate for Secure+ transfers and for connection to local PostgreSQL database (using certificate's cn (Common Name) mapping in PostgreSQL).

What is your industry? Banking
How will this idea be used?

Replacement of locally stored, encrypted passwords from Windows Registry into certificate-based authentication.
